چکیده

New AlxCo50?xCu50?xMnx (x = 2.5, 10, and 15 atomic %, at%) immiscible medium-entropy alloys (IMMEAs) were designed based on the cobalt-copper binary system. Aluminum, a strong B2 phase former, was added to enhance yield strength ultimate tensile strength, while manganese for additional solid solution strengthening. In this work, microstructural evolution mechanical properties of Al-Co-Cu-Mn system are examined. The exhibit separation into dual face-centered cubic (FCC) phases due miscibility gap with formation CoAl-rich phases. hard significantly contribute alloys, whereas FCC elongation mitigating brittle fracture. Consequently, analysis B2-strengthened IMMEAs suggest that new alloy design methodology results in good combination ductility.

Deformation mechanisms to ameliorate the mechanical properties of novel TRIP/TWIP Co-Cr-Mo-(Cu) ultrafine eutectic alloys

In the present study, the microstructural evolution and the modulation of the mechanical properties have been investigated for a Co-Cr-Mo (CCM) ternary eutectic alloy by addition of a small amount of copper (0.5 and 1 at.%). The microstructural observations reveal a distinct dissimilarity in the eutectic structure such as a broken lamellar structure and a well-aligned lamellar structure and an ...

Synthesis, Mechanical and Tribological Characteristics of Immiscible Alloys

A modified impeller mixing coupled with chill casting technique was used for the preparation of immiscible alloys. In this paper Al-Fe binary alloys was chosen for this study. This binary system shows the miscibility gap at specified concentration and temperature. The electrolytic grade iron powder of 300mesh size was dispersed in the melt of commercially pure aluminum. The iron content in the ...

Structure and Mechanical Properties of Al-Cu-Fe-X Alloys with Excellent Thermal Stability

In this work, the structure and mechanical properties of innovative Al-Cu-Fe based alloys were studied. We focused on preparation and characterization of rapidly solidified and hot extruded Al-Cu-Fe, Al-Cu-Fe-Ni and Al-Cu-Fe-Cr alloys. The content of transition metals affects mechanical properties and structure. For this reason, microstructure, phase composition, hardness and thermal stability ...

Grain Refinement and Mechanical Properties of Cu–Cr–Zr Alloys with Different Nano-Sized TiCp Addition

The TiCp/Cu master alloy was prepared via thermal explosion reaction. Afterwards, the nano-sized TiCp/Cu master alloy was dispersed by electromagnetic stirring casting into the melting Cu-Cr-Zr alloys to fabricate the nano-sized TiCp-reinforced Cu-Cr-Zr composites. Results show that nano-sized TiCp can effectively refine the grain size of Cu-Cr-Zr alloys. The morphologies of grain in Cu-Cr-Zr c...
